A program called Internet Essentials, through Xfinity (or Comcast) offers internet services to individuals and families who participate in some government funded programs in Massachusetts and other Comcast service areas. Many people don’t realize this program exists, as Comcast doesn’t provide much marketing for Internet Essentials.
The cost of internet service through Xfinity, without the program can cost more than $100 per month. Many low-income households go without service due to the high monthly costs
Since 2011, Internet Essentials from Comcast – the nation’s largest and most comprehensive Internet adoption program – has connected a cumulative total of more than 10 million people from low-income families to the Internet at home.”

How do I apply?
Apply for Internet Essentials.
The application only takes a few minutes, if you’re able to complete online. They’ll ask what government funded program you are associated with and you may need to upload documents as proof. The application doesn’t ask you for income information or verification, unless you are requesting to qualify based on income alone. The approval process is quick. Make sure no one else in your household already has Xfinity internet services.
